have rubber boots…will puddle jump.  this little project came about when i discovered a barely used but rather dated pair of helly hanson rubber boots at a tag sale.  the rubber shaft was cracking but the foot bed was great and I loved the vintage colors of muted rust and bright yellow.  rubber booties came to mind and off I went scheming a way to save them.  i figured my light industrial vintage Singer sewing machine could handle the layers of rubber, silk and cashmere so i went for it.  it worked!  in the end i used fabric glue to bind some edging to the top and I love the contrasting colors.   reduce, reuse, recycle, upcycle.
