This past week I put a honey super on my one hive that overwintered and withstood the great bear attack of 2017, which took down two hives. I love bee priestessing and being with the magical creatures. I started prepping my new top bar hive too. New colonies come next Sunday. -
Then I went to harvest a load of #nettle and I gotta tell you, I felt so empowered out there. I was singing and thinking to myself: I’m a badass, I can gather my own food, and sing songs of offering and gratitude, and #beepriestess and be well. It was a natural high and the sun was shining. It was just right. -
Then my baby turned 15. 15 you guys. 15. And he loves his cat. And he loves his brother. And I love them all. Love love love

I’m hosting a Swept Away Broom Making Workshop at my house on Tuesday April 17, 6-9pm, with @ladyursus and @thewomanwhomarriedabear ! 🧙🏼‍♀️
We will make hand brooms and herbal smoke bundles, learn about cleaning magic, as well as ritual smoke and mist space-clearing, all while discussing the energetics of crafting and cleansing. Herbal tea will be involved. All supplies included. 🧙🏼‍♀️

i'm still working on making these Mary rattles rattly enough for us to party down with as we do our shamanic witchcraft work. someone said my favorite one, with the spiral face, was scary and then i promptly accidentally dropped her while i was glazing her and her head clean busted off. poor Mary. i'm making more and newsletter subscribers will be the first to claim them. link in bio. also, i keep dropping all the things and i am now blaming it on perimenopause. and my eyesight is rapidly degrading. perimenopause, thanks a lot.
my nettles are so delicious and i am so grateful it's nettle season. and this year they are surrounded by a field of chickweed, so its a total feast. if you didn't catch it in my stories, here is the best thing i ate all week: a layer of salt and pepper potato kettle chips, layered with pepperoncini juice sautéed nettles, layered with two perfectly fried eggs, layered with diced avocado, topped with kimchi. fucking rad dinner, dude. try it. you're welcome.
i hung some of the lorry truck decorations i brought home from India on my front porch since i don't have a truck to attach these to the outside of, like they do in India, where they have the best damn decorated, embellished, accoutremented, paraphernalia'd, brightened and adorned trucks of all time. wouldn't we all be happier if everywhere we went, rainbow colored pompoms and tassels were flying in the wind, attached to the fronts and backs of all the big trucks on the roads? i think so. yes, yes we would be happier. stale amerikans. lively up yourselves.
my one remaining beehive, after the great winter bear debacle of 2017, in which two of my hives were torn apart by non-goldilocks-like bears, is alive and well! makes me so happy. i have enough pieces left over from the fiasco to recreate another langstroth hive but i just ordered a new top bar hive, which i'm so super stoked about, and two 3lb packages of carniolan bees with queens. even after 10 years of bee priestessing, its still a thrill and wonder to befriend and tend these little creatures. yay Spring!

I’m so emo today and I’m totally ok with it. I just can’t hide it. And I think I like it.
I’ve been living in my bikini the last two weeks in Costa Rica while my saltwater soul and honeycomb heart have been humping the sultry earth and ✨healing✨ my autonomic nervous system.
Today I bawled my eyes out on the beach while reading Vagina by Naomi Wolf when I got to the section that explained the unique developmental trauma that many years of childhood sexual abuse experience does to the brain of a child and I could see my adult self so clearly deep in it, still, and holy shit it packed a wallop. Wtf?! I’m floored and aghast on sooooo MANY levels but for starters: a.) how in THE FUCK am I only now reading this book?!?! (wading into the deep end of divine timing), b.) how is this not required reading for every single PERSON on the planet, like, can’t kids in sex ed classes be required to read this, and their parents, and their parents therapists too?! Or how about the fucking predatory fake president?! Can he read it? Cuz he need to!, c.) I might now need to become a scientist, or a doctor, or a whatever you have to be to make a spectacular career out of just one of the multiplicitous trails of nashing curiosity that arise as you read and formulate chapters of hypothesis and experience cavernous wonder about the health of a holy vagina and how it effects ones developing and maturing mental health and how the amazing brain is effected or defected and what that indicates for one creatively, emotionally, spiritually, socially, SEXUALLY, and, well, what that indicates about...everything, [continued in comments.]

It’s Imbolc, it’s Brigit, it’s Candlemas!
Hurray!
It’s a day to “throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.” (Anaïs Nin)

While I was in Varanasi and Jaipur, the ancient and traditional Hindu seasonal celebration of Makar Sankranti was occurring. This gorgeous kite festival occurs every January, marking the first day of the transit of the sun (Surya) moving northward from Makara (Capricorn, The Goat), into Winter Solstice in its solar cycle. Commemorating the beginning of the harvest season, tribute is paid to the sun by flying these bright and colorful kites all over the skyline from rooftops and ghats. It’s an incredible site to behold and one I will never forget.
Both Imbolc and Makar Sankranti mark the suns growing strength. The days are growing longer and I see signs of spring in my blooming hellebores. This makes me giddy even while I’m still regaining strength from being so ill. Spring is coming and I’m throwing my dreams into space like a kite. Yes. (Last photo by @kolleenharrison_ )

Friends, I’m about to pee my pants with excitement that @addyeb_art will be joining @alisha_sommer and I at our Fever Dreams Collective gathering in Sonoma in April. A’Driane will be guiding a session, helping us hold down the fort, and giggle-snorting and dance partying with us all along the way. She took me downtownCharlieBrown, with not one, but two, hotel room visits from helpful Indian doctors who prescribed everything from life saving western allopathic meds to IV hydration and chest X-rays. I made it back to the PNW by the skin of my teeth and never before had I both wanted to get home so fucking bad and never leave my friends.
Speaking of friends, life ain’t no good without em, folks. Unbearable, in fact. I love mine so damn hard it hurts. I’m alive because of them.
And I’m home recuperating now. About to go see one of my local healers for a two hour massage and body work appointment. I’m coming back into the land of the living from fever delirium, hallowed hallucinations, shallow crackle breathing and extreme dehydration. I’ve much more to share about ma India. She brought me to my knees so I could count my cavernous blessings and I’ve lived to tell about so I’m going to. You betchya.
